Jim Watland, CEO, built WCU after working over a decade in the industry and has over 30+ years in the industry. Jim is among the top leaders of the directional drilling business with many accolades over the years and has earned a respected reputation of being straight forward, hardworking, driven with unmatched work ethic that provides optimum performance and results. Jim has created a successful partnership with his son, Casey, who is the president of WCU.

Casey Watland began operating a bore rig when he was 14 years old while working for his dad during summer vacations and has continued to work his way up in the business. Casey has the expertise and knowledge to accomplish jobs containing strict guidelines, timelines, and/or budgets.  He continued working in the industry for the last 20 years and has lead many complex projects with proven operational efficiency.

WCU has installed pipe and conduit for power, fiber optics, potable water, stormwater, sewer, and natural gas. We take great care to ensure that existing utility lines are not damaged, job sites are disturbed as little as possible, and installations are done correctly the first time.
